30 YEARS IN THE BIZ BUT NEEDING A TOUCH UP IN ORDER TO KEEP UP
The Goal
Brandon Development has been a respected business in Central Florida for almost 30 years - however with that came a brand that felt like it was 30 years old. It was giving 90s classic and not in the best way for modern clients. With that being said, they had a super recognizable brand that carried a lot of value! We didn’t want to lose that, so our goal was to take some of the amazing, memorable parts of thier brand and reshape it to fit a modern pool of potential clients.
The Strategy
You cannot put a price on brand recognition and a 30 year old community staple has a lot of it! It was crucial we kept enough of the old brand to be immediately recognized, but alter it enough to match visual standards of the modern world. We audited and analyzed their current brand and located several important pieces to keep and several places we could help them grow.
The Execution
We chose to keep the icon from their logo, but change the orientation for a more usable form. We also chose to retain the memorable teal color but added a dark grey as the primary and began using the teal as a flourish - not a primary element. Previously Brandon only used a variety of serif fonts. We narrowed them down to a modern sans serif as their header font and kept a clean serif for long content. We brought a modern style and added long clean lines as a repetitive design element.
The Result
Upon executing the brand, Brandon immediately began receiving compliments from contacts and noting the usability of the updated designs. We are excited to continue partnering with their legacy as they continue building from one generation to the next.
The Client
Brandon Development is a family owned and operated General Contracting company located on Florida’s Space Coast. They specialize in luxury custom home construction, industrial build outs, and custom commercial creation, but have done everything in between! They value integrity and quality in a field of competitors who would prefer to get a paycheck fast and easily than to build something worth a legacy.
